Transport Tycoon was a very slow paced game, and the pace of the game increases after the year 1975. The starting vehicles are very slow, and will break down very often. In Transport Tycoon, you would have to use the same vehicles for several years until you have enough money to purchase more vehicles. The progression in the game was very slow paced, and you would have to play the game for hours to progress in the game. The Transport Tycoon game was not exactly challenging either. The RollerCoaster Tycoon games were all amusement park rides, and did not present much of a challenge compared to Transport Tycoon.
The game RollerCoaster Tycoon was developed by Chris Sawyer Productions, MicroProse Software Inc., and was published by Hasbro Interactive in 1999 for Microsoft Windows. I would say Transport Tycoon was better than RollerCoaster Tycoon. I consider Transport Tycoon Deluxe to be one of the best computer games of all time. OpenTTD is open source, and is 100% free. There are several user made modifications you would be able to add to the based OpenTTD game to change how you play the game. There are several different transportation vehicles to choose from. OpenTTD is more than earning more money, you will have the power to develop towns. The amount of content included with OpenTTD will have you playing for hours at a time. OpenTTD is not the most challenging strategy game. I used to play OpenTTD for hours a week, and even on the weekends. OpenTTD is an open source simulation game based upon Transport Tycoon Deluxe. The OpenTTD project is based on the original Transport Tycoon, and you can consider OpenTTD the unofficial sequel to Transport Tycoon by Chris Sawyer Productions. No sequels for Transport Tycoon were released to the public, and Transport Tycoon is the only Transport Tycoon game that was ever released. released Transport Tycoon Deluxe in 1995, and included new content for Transport Tycoon.
